New Premises - New Name:
With the move to our new 'state of the art' building imminent, the GP's, Nurses, Practice Manager and reception staff decided this was a good time to give our Practice a new name ...
Up until now the Practice has always been known by the name of the senior partner i.e. Dr A.M.R. Anderson & Partners which works well however, if the senior partner were to move from the Practice, the Practice name would have to change and this causes many problems. We then have to change details on our headed notepaper, at our bank, accountants etc etc. This is expensive and very time consuming as I am sure any of our patients who have recently married/moved home will know!
We decided the best way to do this was to ask our patients what they thought! So we asked staff to suggest some names for the Practice which were relevant to the area and to the move to our new premises on Ferry Road. Staff decided on 3 names and these names were given to patients via a survey during the month of August. Patients were asked which name they thought would be best for their Practice.
The names suggested and voted on were:
- Braehead Medical Practice
- Ferry Village Medical Practice
- Blythswood Medical Practice
The votes have been counted and the winning name is:
BRAEHEAD MEDICAL PRACTICE
We also picked, from the winning votes, a patent who had voted for the winning name - she received a gift voucher to spend in Braehead.
We will therefore be known as Braehead Medical Practice from 1 January 2010.
We have also adopted a picture of the old Renfrew Ferry as our Practice Logo - if you have a good photo of the old Ferry please let our Practice Manager know - we have a photo but would be interested to see if anyone has a better one!
So there we have it - new premises and new name. The Health Centre will still be called Renfrew Health & Social Care Centre - only the Practice name changes.
