Core Services

General management of medical conditions, disease monitoring, health promotion, referral to other services, care of temporary residents and emergency care where considered appropriate.

Anti-coagulation monitoring and near patient testing.

Cervical screening, contraceptive services, vaccinations & immunisations and child health surveillance.

Maternity Services

In partnership with a Community Midwifery Team both ante and post natal.

Child Immunisations

Routine childhood immunisations are now carried out by the Health Visiting Team.   Please direct any questions or queries to them on 0141 207 7459.    

Influenza Immunisations

Depending on supplies we aim to start this programme September/October each year. Patients 65+ and those with a chronic illness e.g. Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Immunosurpressed qualify for a free immunisation every year.

Cervical Smears

Recommended every 3 years for woman aged 20 to 60 years. This can be done by any of our Practice Nurses or the Doctor of your choice.

Substance Abuse Clinic

Held weekly in partnership with a Key Worker from Renfrew Substance Abuse Resource Centre. Dr Lorraine Murphy is the GP with responsibility for this clinic.

Foreign Travel

Our Practice Nurses will give you advice re: immunisations required however, we are restricted to prescribing under NHS regulations e.g. Hepatitis A, Diphtheria and Polio. You should contact a private immunisation clinic for immunisations not mentioned. For further information on this service please click here.

Medical Sickness Certificates

For DSS purposes, confirmation of pregnancy.

Patient Charges (Non-NHS Services)

Services Not Provided Under General Medical Services

There are a range of services commonly requested which do not come under General Medical Services provided by the GP and funded by the National Health Services. As such these services do attract a private fee. The British Medical Association (B.M.A.) do recommend a range of fees for a range of private services.  

Those common services which do attract a fee include:

Medicals for insurance, HGV, PSV, pre-employment examinations.

Completion of Private Insurance Forms.  

Private Prescription are also a non-NHS service and do attract a fee.

These services are provided outwith normal surgery consultations. Please make an appointment for these chargeable services.

Requests for medical information made by lawyers, employers, insurance companies etc must be accompanied by a mandate from the patient authorising release of personal medical information.

These reports will also attract a private fee and are charged to the person/company making the request.
